Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information NIGHTFALL ("the Game," "we," "us") collects when you play, and how it's used. NIGHTFALL is a free browser-based survival game available at night-falls.xyz.

Information We Collect

We aim to collect as little personal information as possible.

  • Player name. The name you enter before playing is stored locally in your browser and sent to our game server so other players in your match can see it. It is not tied to any real-world identity.
  • Local storage data. Your browser's local storage is used to remember settings, a session token (so a dropped connection can reconnect you to the same in-progress match), and meta-progression such as best wave and lifetime kills. This data stays on your device and is not sold or shared.
  • Gameplay data. While playing multiplayer, your in-game actions (movement, combat, building) are sent to our game server to keep the match synchronized for all players. This data is used only to run the match and is not retained for any purpose beyond the session.
  • Usage/technical data. Our hosting provider and any analytics or advertising services we use (see below) may automatically log standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, as is standard for essentially all websites.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

NIGHTFALL and its third-party partners (including Google, described below) may use cookies, local storage, and similar tracking technologies to operate the site, remember your preferences, and — where advertising is enabled — to serve and measure ads.

Google AdSense & Third-Party Advertising

This site may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.

Third-party ad servers or ad networks use technologies like cookies, JavaScript, or Web Beacons in their respective advertisements and links that appear on NIGHTFALL, which are sent directly to your browser. They automatically receive your IP address when this occurs. These technologies are used to measure the effectiveness of their advertising campaigns and/or to personalize the advertising content that you see.

NIGHTFALL has no access to or control over the cookies used by third-party advertisers. You should consult the respective privacy policies of any third-party ad servers for more detailed information, which may include their practices and instructions on how to opt out of certain options.

Children's Privacy

NIGHTFALL is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Data Retention

We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes described above. Locally stored data (settings, session tokens, meta-progression) remains on your device until you clear your browser's storage.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example as our advertising or hosting arrangements change. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
